There are times when we feel stuck in a rut and feel in desperate need of a change, and whether you’re contemplating a radical change such as a new job or a new home, or something smaller, there are things you can do to help you get started.

This might not seem important but it’s incredibly liberating to get rid of things you don’t need any more or that you’ve been hoarding for far too long. No only does it feel good but it creates space for something new and that can help with working out what you want

Take a step back

This doesn’t mean you’re giving up but when you take a break from a problem you’re trying to solve or a routine that’s not working for you, when you return, you’ll often find the distance has enabled you to work out what you need to do.

Do something you’d never normally do

Whether it’s something that’s for personal or professional reasons, have you ever attended a concert, a show or conference that’s nothing like the ones you usually go to? It’s quite an eye-opener when you do, not only are you learning something completely new, but you’re expanding your horizons and that in turn will alter your viewpoint.

Travelling is amazing and is a great way to gain a new perspective, even if you’re returning to somewhere you’ve been before, the time and place you’re in now, will be different from your previous visit. It’s also going to be different from where you live, and how many times when we come back from travelling, do we feel that need a couple of days to re-acclimatise. That’s a great time to re-evaluate and work out what you want.

Ask for help

You don’t have to do everything yourself, if you ask, people are always happy to help you or offer advice. You can also think about hiring a coach as this will naturally open up a new perspective. You’ll also have someone totally on your side who will help you expand your horizons.

So if you’ve something you’ve always wanted to do then call me for a chat and I’d love to help you get started. You never know it could change your life!!
